INTERNSHIPS AT BOISEKO IKASTOLA

Boiseko Ikastola will sometimes get lucky and have interns from Boise State University. We are working with additional universities, including in the Basque Country, to allow teachers to train with us in Boise and provide an incredible amount of support to our main teachers and director. This year, we were fortunate enough to have a Global Training Intern from the University of the Basque Country. We look forward to having Jon and welcoming additional interns in the future!

Kaixo familia! Nire izena Jon Lopez de Murillas da eta hurrengo sei hilabetean zehar zuen Boiseko Ikastolako irakasle berria izango naiz. Gogotsu nago nire bizitzako etapa berri honi aurre egiteko, izugarrizko esperientzia izango dudala ziur nago.

Tolosan jaio eta bizi naiz, nire familia guraso eta hiru anai arrabez osatua dago. Tolosa, Gipuzkoako herri izugarri bat da. Herriko gauza famatuen artean Tolosako babarrunak eta inauteriak aurkitu ditzakegu, baina herri bezala handi egiten gaituzten gauza gehiago ditugu; erraldoiak eta San Juanak bezala. Hello, family! My name is Jon López de Murillas, and for the next six months, I will be the new teacher at your Ikastola in Boise. I’m excited to start this new chapter of my life, confident that I will have an amazing experience.

I was born and live in Tolosa, a small town in Gipuzkoa. My family consists of my parents and three siblings. Tolosa is a charming town known for its Tolosa beans and carnival, but we also have other things that make us great, such as the giants puppets and the San Juan festival. Although I’m from Gipuzkoa, I’m a big fan of Athletic Club. Some of my hobbies include running through the mountains and around my town.

I’ve been surrounded by teaching from a young age because my mom, dad, and sister are all teachers. It was from them that I developed my love for teaching. That’s why when the opportunity to work at the Ikastola in Boise came up, I set my goals on going to Boise without hesitation. Lastly, I want to thank the teaching team and families of the Ikastola for the trust they’ve placed in me.
