Boiseko Euskal Komunitatean jaioa eta hazia, Sarahk bere familiak euskal kultura betikotzeko utzitako ondareari jarraitzen dio. Espe Alegria euskal irratiko aurkezlearen biloba izanik, Sarah oso pozik dago Boiseko Ikastolan egoteaz, askori hainbeste gustatzen zaion kultura partekatuz.
Sarah 2018ko udazkenean hasi zen Boiseko Ikastolan, eta berehala islatu zuen bertan bere maitasun-nortasun aberasgarria. Zoo Phonics eta The Magic Tree House liburu sorta bezalako programa bikainak eskaini zituen, haurrak eskolarako prestaketan laguntzeko.
Bizitzan zehar aldaketa asko bizi izan ditu Sarahk, eta honek frogatzen du kastolako ikasleen nortasunean egunero gertatzen diren aldaketetara egokitzeko gaitasuna duela.
Haurreskoletan 12 urte baino gehiagoko esperientzia du Sarahk, baita marketinean, trebakuntzan eta tailerretan, komunikazioetan, administrazioan eta sareetan ere, Boiseko Ikastolan zuzendari gisa oso baliagarriak direnak.
Born and raised in the Boise Basque Community, Sarah is continuing her family's legacy of perpetuating Basque culture. As the granddaughter of long-time Basque radio host, Espe Alegria, Sarah is ecstatic to be at Boiseko Ikastola, sharing the culture she is so passionate about to so many.
Sarah began at Boiseko Ikastola in the Fall of 2018, and immediately made the place reflect her loving, nurturing personality. She implemented great programs like Zoo Phonics, and The Magic Tree House book series to assist the children in preparation for Kindergarten.
Sarah's background varies which speaks to her ability to change and adapt to the daily changes in personality of the Ikastola students.
With more than 12 years of preschool experience, Sarah also has experience in marketing, training & workshops, communications, management, and networking that have proven incredibly helpful in her role as director at Boiseko Ikastola.
Kaixo!
Nire izena Maddi Galarraga da eta gipuzkoako herri batetik nator, Villabonatik zehazki. Datorren ikasturte honetan Boiseko Ikastolako irakasle berria izango naiz, Garazirekin batera. Gogotsu nago ikasturte berri honetarako! Betidanik izan dut hezkuntzarekiko eta haurrekiko grina. Nire hezkuntza esperientzia udalekuetan hasi bazen ere, eskolaz kanpoko nerabeen kirol entrenatzaile ere izan naiz. Haur Hezkuntzako unibertsitate titulua lortu nuenean, beka bat jaso nuen baso eskola programan lan egiteko. Esperientzia honek eredu honekiko interesa piztu zidan eta goi mailako unibertsitate programa bat egin nuen. Naturaren garrantzia baloratzen dut haurren bizitzan. Ondorengo urteetan, adin ezberdinetako haurren tutore izan naiz eta esperientzia honen bitartez, nire ibilbide profesionala elikatu dut. Ibilbide horretan garbi dut haurrak erdigunean jartzea dudala oinarri, haien erritmoak errespetatuz eta ni haien bidelagun izanez. Zabalkunde horretan bidelagun ederrak izango ditut nirekin: ikastolako txikiak. Urte ederra izan dadila!
Kaixo!
My name is Maddi Galarraga and I come from Villabona, a small city in Gipuzkoa. This school year I will be one of the new teachers at Boiseko Ikastola with Garazi. I am excited for this new school year! I have always had a passion for education and children. While my experience in education started in summer camps, I have also been an after-school mentor and teenager coach in sports. When I got my university degree in early childhood education, I received a scholarship to work in a forest school program. Because of that, I got interested in the forest school methodology, and I did a higher university program about it. I value the importance of nature in children's lives. In the following years, I have been a tutor for children of different ages, an experience that has nourished my professional career. I am clear that I base my work on putting children at the center, respecting their rhythms and being their companion. The Basque language is my mother tongue and therefore, I really appreciate it. It is the language with which I have grown up and I continue growing; it is my identity. In the city of Boise, so many miles from the Basque Country, the appreciation for Basque culture and language is immense and it will be a pleasure for me to spread our language and culture at the Ikastola. In this spread, I will have wonderful companions: the little ones from the Ikastola. We are going to have a wonderful year!
Kaixo guztiei!
Nire izena Garazi Fernández da eta aurtengo Boiseko Ikastolako irakasleetako bat izango naiz. Oso gogotsu nago esperientzia berri honi hasiera emateko eta Euskal Herriko zortzigarren probintzian murgiltzeko! Barakaldokoa naiz, Bilbo ondoko hiri batekoa. Txiki-txikitatik euskal dantzak egin izan ditut, nire herriko “Laguntasuna” dantza taldean eta horri esker nire kultura eta sustraiekin oso konektatuta sentitzen naiz. Horretaz gain, pianoa eta txistua jotzen ditut eta trikitixa jotzen ikasten ari naiz. Duda barik, musika eta dantza nire pasioetako bi dira. Barakaldon bizitzea maite dudan arren eta familia eta lagun guztiak bertan ditudan arren, leku berriak ezagutzea oso gustoko dut. Horregatik, aurretik ere Argentinako hainbat euskal etxeetan ibili izan naiz dantzatzen eta kultura tailerrak ematen. Bestetik, Irlandan lan egin dut hainbat hilabetez hango eskola batean hezkuntza metodologia berriak ezagutzeko. Urteak daramatzat Euskal Herrian ere irakasle lanetan eta gehien bat musika irakaslea izan naiz. Musikak haurrei beraien emozio eta sentimeduekin konektatzeko aukera emateaz gain, hizkuntzak ikasteko eta kultura transmititzeko herraminta bikaina da, izan ere, kantatzen eta dantzatzen duen herria ez da inoiz hilko!
Hello everyone!
My name is Garazi Fernández and I am one of the new Boiseko Ikastola´s teachers. I am really excited about this new experience and to have the opportunity to be a part of the 8th province of the Basque Country! I am from Barakaldo, a city near Bilbao. Since I was a little girl I have been doing Basque dances in my city's “Laguntasuna” dance group which has made me connect really deep with my roots. Apart from that, I play the piano and the txistu and I am also learning how to play the trikitixa. No doubt that music and dancing are two of the greatest passions in life. Even though I love living in Barakaldo and all my family and friends are there, I really enjoy traveling and visiting new places. In fact, before coming here I went to different Basque centers of Argentina to dance and to teach different workshops related to the Basque culture. I have also worked in Ireland in a school to get the chance to learn different teaching methodologies. I have worked as a teacher for several years in the Basque Country and most of my experience has been as a music teacher. Music is a great tool not only to connect with our feelings and emotions but also to learn and share a language and a culture because as we say in basque : kantatzen eta dantzatzen duen herria ez da inoiz hilko! (A country that sings and dances is never going to die!)
